بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ وَٱلْمُرْسَلَٰتِ عُرْفًا
Saheeh International(1) By those [winds] sent forth in gusts

فَٱلْعَٰصِفَٰتِ عَصْفًا
Saheeh International(2) And the winds that blow violently
See all translations of this verse →
وَٱلنَّٰشِرَٰتِ نَشْرًا
Saheeh International(3) And [by] the winds that spread [clouds]
See all translations of this verse →
فَٱلْفَٰرِقَٰتِ فَرْقًا
Saheeh International(4) And those [angels] who bring criterion[1816]

فَٱلْمُلْقِيَٰتِ ذِكْرًا
Saheeh International(5) And those [angels] who deliver a message
See all translations of this verse →
عُذْرًا أَوْ نُذْرًا
Saheeh International(6) As justification or warning,
See all translations of this verse →
إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَوَٰقِعٌ
Saheeh International(7) Indeed, what you are promised is to occur.

فَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ طُمِسَتْ
Saheeh International(8) So when the stars are obliterated

وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ فُرِجَتْ
Saheeh International(9) And when the heaven is opened

وَإِذَا ٱلْجِبَالُ نُسِفَتْ
Saheeh International(10) And when the mountains are blown away

وَإِذَا ٱلرُّسُلُ أُقِّتَتْ
Saheeh International(11) And when the messengers' time has come...[1817]

لِأَىِّ يَوْمٍ أُجِّلَتْ
Saheeh International(12) For what Day was it postponed?[1818]

لِيَوْمِ ٱلْفَصْلِ
Saheeh International(13) For the Day of Judgement.

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ
Saheeh International(14) And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement?

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
Saheeh International(15) Woe,[1819] that Day, to the deniers.

أَلَمْ نُهْلِكِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
Saheeh International(16) Did We not destroy the former peoples?

ثُمَّ نُتْبِعُهُمُ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
Saheeh International(17) Then We will follow them with the later ones.

كَذَٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
Saheeh International(18) Thus do We deal with the criminals.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
Saheeh International(19) Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

أَلَمْ نَخْلُقكُّم مِّن مَّآءٍ مَّهِينٍ
Saheeh International(20) Did We not create you from a liquid disdained?

فَجَعَلْنَٰهُ فِى قَرَارٍ مَّكِينٍ
Saheeh International(21) And We placed it in a firm lodging [i.e., the womb]

إِلَىٰ قَدَرٍ مَّعْلُومٍ
Saheeh International(22) For a known extent.

فَقَدَرْنَا فَنِعْمَ ٱلْقَٰدِرُونَ
Saheeh International(23) And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
Saheeh International(24) Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ ٱلْأَرْضَ كِفَاتًا
Saheeh International(25) Have We not made the earth a container

أَحْيَآءً وَأَمْوَٰتًا
Saheeh International(26) Of the living and the dead?
See all translations of this verse →
وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِىَ شَٰمِخَٰتٍ وَأَسْقَيْنَٰكُم مَّآءً فُرَاتًا
Saheeh International(27) And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
Saheeh International(28) Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

ٱنطَلِقُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ
Saheeh International(29) [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny.

ٱنطَلِقُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ ظِلٍّ ذِى ثَلَٰثِ شُعَبٍ
Saheeh International(30) Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns
See all translations of this verse →
لَّا ظَلِيلٍ وَلَا يُغْنِى مِنَ ٱللَّهَبِ
Saheeh International(31) [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame."

إِنَّهَا تَرْمِى بِشَرَرٍ كَٱلْقَصْرِ
Saheeh International(32) Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress,

كَأَنَّهُۥ جِمَٰلَتٌ صُفْرٌ
Saheeh International(33) As if they were yellowish [black] camels.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
Saheeh International(34) Woe, that Day, to the deniers.
See all translations of this verse →
هَٰذَا يَوْمُ لَا يَنطِقُونَ
Saheeh International(35) This is a Day they will not speak,
See all translations of this verse →
وَلَا يُؤْذَنُ لَهُمْ فَيَعْتَذِرُونَ
Saheeh International(36) Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
Saheeh International(37) Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

هَٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ جَمَعْنَٰكُمْ وَٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
Saheeh International(38) This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples.

فَإِن كَانَ لَكُمْ كَيْدٌ فَكِيدُونِ
Saheeh International(39) So if you have a plan, then plan against Me.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
Saheeh International(40) Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى ظِلَٰلٍ وَعُيُونٍ
Saheeh International(41) Indeed, the righteous will be among shades and springs

وَفَوَٰكِهَ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ
Saheeh International(42) And fruits from whatever they desire,

كُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ هَنِيٓـًٔۢا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
Saheeh International(43) [Being told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do."

إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
Saheeh International(44) Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
Saheeh International(45) Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

كُلُوا۟ وَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ قَلِيلًا إِنَّكُم مُّجْرِمُونَ
Saheeh International(46) [O disbelievers], eat and enjoy yourselves a little; indeed, you are criminals.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
Saheeh International(47) Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱرْكَعُوا۟ لَا يَرْكَعُونَ
Saheeh International(48) And when it is said to them, "Bow [in prayer]," they do not bow.

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
Saheeh International(49) Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

فَبِأَىِّ حَدِيثٍۭ بَعْدَهُۥ يُؤْمِنُونَ
Saheeh International(50) Then in what statement after it [i.e., the Qur’ān] will they believe?
