وَلَقَدْ كَانُوا۟ عَٰهَدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مِن قَبْلُ لَا يُوَلُّونَ ٱلْأَدْبَٰرَ وَكَانَ عَهْدُ ٱللَّهِ مَسْـُٔولًا
Saheeh International(15) And they had already promised Allāh before not to turn their backs [i.e., flee]. And ever is the promise to Allāh [that about which one will be] questioned.
English Translation - Rowwad Translation CenterThey had already made a covenant with Allah earlier that they would not turn and flee, and the covenant of Allah will surely be questioned about.
English Translation - Hilali and Khan15. And indeed they had already made a covenant with Allâh not to turn their backs, and a covenant with Allâh must be answered for.
